A fee of $20.00, payable to Bibb County Probate Court. This fee covers the application charge of $15.00, plus the charge of $5.00 for fingerprinting and 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays

The Bibb County Probate Court, located on Mulberry Street in downtown Macon issues the permit. The permit office is downstairs one floor once you enter the courthouse. It is the same location that marriage licenses are issued.

The Court office will accept cash for THEIR fee of $20, but they will accept ONLY a $24 money order made payable to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for the background check.

I came with a $25 money order and they refused it, i was going to GIVE the state an extra dollar and they said no. They will mail back any money orders that are over $.50 the required 24.

I applied for my CCW on 20 AUG 04, it took 3 months.

New applicants must pay an additional $24.00, payable to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (G.B.I.) for the complete criminal records history from the records maintained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This MUST be in the form of a money order or a cashierÂ’s check. Personal checks are NOT accepted by the G.B.I.
